Macedo Memorial cycle race set for Sunday

The 10th annual Flying Stars Cycle Club/Victor Macedo Memorial Road Race will pedal off this Sunday with a rolling start outside the late Macedo’s Peter Rose and Lance Gibbs streets, Queenstown home from 07:30 hrs.

According to organizers of the event, the cyclists will officially start on Homestretch Avenue.

Veterans and female cyclists will turn back at the Linden/Soesdyke junction, while seniors and juniors will turn back at Long Creek on the Linden Highway and finish at the point of origin (approximately 80 miles).

The first eight seniors; first four juniors; first three veterans and two female finishers will all be awarded with prizes.

Additionally there will be 12 prime prizes at stake.
Last year’s winner was Albert Philander.
