Signing the contract yesterday with Civil Engineer Work Construction Services,
Minister of Culture, Youth and Sport Dr Frank Anthony urged the contractor to stick to the six-month deadline, the design, the scope of work and the quantities as specified in the contract document.

“We feel that we have now reached the stage where we have more facilities and we are more active in sports. We needed to have a resource centre so that our coaches, referees, and our athletes could be properly trained,” Kumar stated , adding that the ministry was pleased to construct such a building.
Sport Ministry Permanent Secretary Alfred King said consultants will be used to manage every component of the project.

“We are hoping by the end of six months we would not be (enforcing) other clauses to the contract that would allow us to take corrective action towards the contractor if any default,” he added.
