Bishops’ High, QC run out zone winners

Competing in zone one, Bishops’ High School ended with 338 points to top the zone.

Their nearest rival was Christ Church on 182 points while Chase Academy placed third with 173 points. St John’s Secondary and School of the Nations were next with 169 and 162 points respectively.

In zone two, QC topped the competition with 480 points with Marian Academy second on 260 points. Richard Ishmael, 251 points and Guyana Technical Institute (GTI) 122 points, were third and fourth respectively.

The field events followed Tuesday’s run off of the cycling segment which was held at the National Park and saw Bishops’ Erica Legall and Serena Grandison dominating girl’s Under-14 category.

Legall won the 400 and 1000m and was second in the 1500m behind Grandison who captured the 800m race and was third in the 400m behind Business School’s Shaneeza Akbar who was second.

In the boy’s Under 14 category, Christ Church’s Alfie Khan placed first in the 800, 1000, 1500, 2000 and the 3000m events while in the girl’s Open category, GTI’s Ensade Wade won the 400 and 800m races. (Tamica Garnett)
