Evergreen Persaud wins Payless feature event

The evergreen Robin Persaud on Saturday won the feature event of the inaugural Payless Variety Store sponsored 11-race meet around the inner circuit of the National Park.

Persaud’s winning time for the 35 lap event was one hour, 18 minutes and 42 seconds.

Junior Niles was second and Raul Leal, third while Marlon `Fishy’ Williams and Paul De Nobrega occupied the fourth and fifth places respectively.

The Veterans U-50 five-lap event was won by Junior Niles from Shameer Baksh and Kennard Lovell while the veterans O-50 five lap race was won by Wilfred Thom with Courtney Hackett second.

Harry Lall defeated Maurice Fagundes to win the veteran O-50 race.

The 12-14 three-lap event was won by Alfie Sonaram from Jason Jordan and Adrian Sharma.

Leal was the winner of the juveniles’ 10-lap race. DeNobrega placed second and Mario King, third while Nigel Jacobs won the uprights category with Julio Melville and Niall Kingston placing second and third.

Isaiah Sahadeo won the two lap BMX boys 6-9 race from Scion Nunes and Jeremiah Harrison while Keon Harris was the winner of the BMX boys 9-12 years, two-lap race.

Britton John and Rashidi Ceres  were second and third respectively.

The boys and girls three-lap race was won by Adrian Sharma with  Jamal John second and Deeraj Ghabarran third, while the 12-14 Open race over three laps was won by Cleveland King with Adrian Sharma and Christopher Griffith placing second and third respectively.
