GFF issues caution to Associations regarding participation of clubs in unsanctioned tournaments

Fines will be imposed on clubs competing  in unauthorised tourneys – GFF
The Guyana Football Federation (GFF) is cautioning its clubs that sanctions will be imposed on them for participating in unauthorised tournaments, after it was made aware that efforts were afoot to do so.

In a press release the GFF said it has been informed that certain organisations and entities had approached its clubs to participate in unauthorised tournaments. It therefore advises clubs that a Circular titled “Revised Conditions for the Granting of Approval for Football Competitions and Tournaments” dated January 16, 2003, stated that associations can only approve of club participation in competitions and tournaments which they conduct in their jurisdiction.

“For Competitions and Tournaments conducted by other Associations and for which Clubs are invited to participate (Inter Association Tournaments), these must be sanctioned by the GFF and such notification provided to Associations by the GFF,” the release said.

Further, it said clubs that compete in tournaments not sanctioned by their associations and /or the GFF will be subject to the imposition of penalties by the GFF in accordance with the provisions of its Constitution.
