BOSAI basketball competition heating up

A hectic weekend is in store for basketball clubs in Linden this weekend as teams participating in the BOSAI Minerals Group (Guyana) Inc. Open Challenge championships hunt semi-final places.

In tonight’s first game, Half Mile Bulls will oppose Block 22 Flames while Victory Valley Royals will play Amelia’s Ward Jets from 8.30pm.

Despite the fact that the VV Royals won their previous clash 70-61, the Jets, on five points from two wins and one loss, will be looking to avenge that defeat and strengthen their chances of a semi-final place.

They will rely on the Websters Shane, Allister and Domain with support from Kevin Joseph, Rodwell Pellew and Leonard Caleb.

Royals, with three points from a win and a loss, will be playing without forward Chris Williams, but will have the services of guard Marlon Pollydore, Harold Adams and Orlando Glasgow along with Anthony Morris and Alwyn Rodney.

Half Mile Bulls will enter tonight’s game on three points after one win and a loss to Block 22 Flames’s four points.

Bulls will rely on Michael Turner, Keon Cameron and Kurleigh Austin while the Flames will look to Aubrey Johnson, Devon Morrison, Quincy Richmond and Selwyn Noble.

The competition continues tomorrow night with the Royals facing the  Bulls in the first game at 7.00pm while at 9.00pm leaders Retrieve Raiders on eight points after four wins, will play the Kashif and Shanghai Kings who are on four points.
