NYSL, Trophy Stall Angels win male, female Guyana Softball Cup competitions

In the male final the NYSL (NYSL) defeated Trophy Stall by eight wickets. Batting first Trophy Stall was dismissed for 86 in 18.3 overs.

Opener Surujpaul Deosarran topscored with 27. His was the last wicket to fall. Marj Harold supported with 15.

Asif Ally and Amit Moonsammy captured two wickets each for 13 runs.

The NYSCL in reply benefited from a second wicket stand of 67 runs between Ally and Vicky Subhkarran as the reached 87 for the loss of just two wickets in 11.3 overs.

Ally ended on an unbeaten 29 while Subhkarran made 34.

The win was worth US$4 000 and a trophy while the runners up received US$1000 and a trophy.

In the women’s competition Trophy Stall Angels edged Mike’s Wellwoman in the semi-finals winning the super over contest before defeating Karibee Rice Strikers in the final.

Trophy Stall Angels won $50 000 and a trophy while Karibee Rice Strikers, received $25 000 for placing second.

In the masters final Kayume Savage Masters defeated New York’s Presidents XI.
