Guyana women’s hockey squad departs for World League

Guyana’s women hockey departed Guyana yesterday to compete in the opening round of the World Hockey League in neighbouring Trinidad and Tobago.

The local squad ranked 58th in the world will compete against some of the top teams in the Pan American region.

The line up includes  top seeded Canada, ranked 23 in the world, Trinidad 27, Barbados 41, Uruguay 50 and  Guyana and Venezuela both ranked 58.
