Thomas Lands withdraw after beating Bagotville 4-0

Thomas Lands (the Guyana Defence Force) football team scored the biggest win of the Mayor’s Cup competition last Tuesday at the Den Amstel ground by defeating Bagostville 4-0 but have withdrawn from the competition organizer Lennox Arthur said yesterday.
Sherwin Caesar netted a double while Eusi Phillips and Desford Williams were the other goal scorers. Arthur said Bagostville will continue in the competition.

In other results, Kuru Kuru and Wales played to a 0-0 draw with Kuru Kuru winning on penalty kicks while Grove beat East Ruimveldt 2-0 with Dellon Dodson and Dexter Archer the goal scorers.

Tucville beat Lima 2-0 with Jermaine Junior and Joshua Browne the goal scorers while Goed Fortuin edged Bourda 1-0 courtesy of a goal from youth national Ashley Harding.

Newton/Kitty beat Crane on penalty kicks after the score was 0-0 at the end of regulation time while Stewartville defeated North East La Penitence 1-0 through a Donald Bobb goal.

Alberttown defeated Jetty (Plastic City) on sudden death penalty kicks while Sara Lodge won in similar fashion against Mocha after the two sides drew 0-0.

The competition continues today with West Corner opposing Eve Leary; Tiger Bay opposing Bagotsville; Werk-en-Rust opposing Sophia; West Ruimveldt against Kingston and West Ruimveldt Estate versus Kitty.
