Bravo sends fitness hint with lively half-century

PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad,  CMC – West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo hinted at a return to full fitness with a entertaining half-century in a trial match here Thursday.

The seasoned campaigner struck 68 from just 51 balls to help a Trinidad and Tobago XI beat a T&T Legion XI by 15 runs in a match at the National Cricket Centre.

T&T’s national side are preparing for January’s start of the Caribbean Twenty20 while the Legion outfit are poised to turn out in the US Open T20 tournament in Florida.

The right-handed Bravo smashed two fours and five sixes as his side posted 160 for five from their 20 overs. West Indies A batsman Jason Mohammed hammered 61 from 46 balls, striking three fours and sixes. Bravo missed the limited overs phase of West Indies ongoing tour of Bangladesh with injury.

West Indies T20 leg-spinner Samuel Badree (2-11) took both wickets as the Legion XI finished on 145 for two.
