Samuels gets better of Roach in Big Bash contest

Playing at Docklands Stadium, Melbourne registered their fourth straight win with a six-wicket victory, to storm to the top of the points standings on eight points.

Opting to bat first, Brisbane made 133 for seven off their allotted 20 overs with Thisara Perera top-scoring with 38 off 24 balls.

Samuels, trundling his off-spin, went wicket-less but sent down four frugal overs that cost a mere 18 runs.
In reply, Melbourne reached their target off the first ball of the final over, thanks to Ben Rohrer’s unbeaten 30.

Samuels managed just 15 from 18 balls before top-edging a pull at young paceman Ben Cutting, and falling to a catch at the wicket in the 13th over.
Roach finished with one for 32 from 3.1 overs.
