Western diplomats visit Help and Shelter

United States of America Ambassador to Guyana Dr. Brent Hardt, British High Commissioner Andrew Ayre, Canadian High Commissioner Dr. Nicole Giles and Head of the European Union Delegation Ambassador Robert Kopecky today visited Help and Shelter in observance of Human Rights Day which will be commemorated tomorrow. A release from the British High Commission said that the main focus of the visit was to raise awareness and lend support to the work that Help and Shelter is undertaking in battling Domestic Violence in Guyana. The diplomats also used the opportunity to urge victims of Domestic Violence to contact organisations such as Help and Shelter and to those witnessing domestic violence to speak out against it.
