T&T mom who witnessed murder executed outside home

(Trinidad Express) A 30-year-old mother of one who was a witness to the murder of a taxi driver in Laventille on Monday night, was herself shot and killed outside her home  Tuesday night.

Makeeba Iza Jordan, of Mahogany Trace, Bagatelle, Diego Martin, was executed by three men. Jordan at the time was at home with her mother and other relatives, when the men came calling at around 10 p.m.

A short while later, gun shots were heard and Jordan was found bleeding, between two homes on the same parcel of land. She died at the scene.

Jordan’s death is the 15th murder in the past nine days, and the homicide toll for the year stands at 303, according to an Express count.

Police have linked Jordan’s murder to Monday’s shooting of Imtiaz Abdul. Abdul a PH taxi driver was shot dead on Pashley Street, Laventille moments after he dropped off a passenger at Beetham Gardens.

Abdul, of Real Street, Patna Village, Diego Martin, was shot several times about the body and died on the scene. Jordan, the passenger in Abdul’s car, was not harmed and escaped when the shots ceased.
