Eight hurt in Tapir crash

Eight persons were injured yesterday  after a Tapir vehicle toppled on the Number 76 Public Road, Corentyne.

Premwattie Latchman, 40; Naresha Vederram 19, and Philica Inderapaul ,17, all of Lot 181, No. 70 village Corentyne, Berbice sustained injuries and were in the intensive care unit at the Skeldon hospital when Stabroek News visited.  The others who sustained minor injuries were treated and sent home.

A relative of one of the injured who wanted to remain anonymous noted that the driver has been involved in many accidents. She also said that passengers in the Tapir were telling the driver to slow down but he did not.
