Republic Bank Rose Hall Branch fetes orphans

Last December, the Republic Bank Rose Hall Branch held its annual Christmas party for orphans and also supported the Port Mourant Turf Club’s final horse race meet.

The party was held at the Branch Manager, Leon McDonald’s residence.  He explained to Stabroek News recently in an interview, that by hosting the party for over eighty underprivileged children, it was part of the bank’s community outreach in the community it serves.  It is hoped that the less fortunate children were able to enjoy the festivities and feel that they are loved and cared for.  The party was attended by orphans from the Camal International Home for battered women and children and Canaan’s Home.

The children along with staff from the bank were involved in singing, dancing, and playing games.  They were treated with goodies and gifts.
McDonald concluded that the children had a spectacular time and the staff felt overjoyed at being able to spread the Christmas cheer.
In addition, the bank during the season handed over a cheque of $200,000 to the Port Mourant Turf Club to assist in holding their final horse race meet in 2012.  McDonald said that the bank was pleased to contribute as a good corporate citizen.
