Elderly Guava Bush woman murdered

The police today said they are investigating the murder of Jasmattie Pooran, 70 years, of Guava Bush, Albion, Corentyne, whose body was found at about 1110h today.

Police say that Pooran lived alone and her body was found on the floor of a kitchen that was in a  building separate from her house. Pooran’s body bore bruises and her hands were tied together with cloth and a piece of canvas rope was tied over her mouth, police said.

A PME is to be performed on the body.
