Opposition, private sector to meet next month on budget

Opposition Leader and APNU Chairman David Granger, MP, and a team of shadow ministers along with representatives of the Private Sector Commission agreed to meet early next month to discuss the latter’s proposals, particularly for the 2013 National Budget.

According to a press release, Granger, accompanied by shadow ministers for finance Carl Greenidge, MP; Agriculture and the Environment, Dr Rupert Roopnaraine, MP; Works and Communications, Joseph Harmon, MP; Local Government and Regional Development, Ronald Bulkan, MP and Policy Adviser E Lance Carberry met with PSC Chairman Ron Webster, Executive Director Elizabeth Alleyne, John Willems, Gerry Gouveia and GCCI head Clinton Urling yesterday.

Webster explained that due to other commitments all key members of the PSC could not attend the meeting. As such, after their initial presentation it was agreed that the meeting would be adjourned until a mutually convenient date in early February.
