City’s Deputy Chief Constable dies

The Mayor and Councillors of the City of Georgetown today announced the sudden passing of Deputy Chief Constable, Trevor Merriman. He died today at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation.

Chief Constable, Andrew Foo in a press release said: “Mr. Merriman was dedicated and committed to his work at the City Police Department of the Georgetown Municipality.”

Merriman joined the City Council on 5th June 1987, as a City Constable. The release said “His astuteness and continuous commitment facilitated his upward mobility in the organization. He was promoted to sergeant in 1988 then to Inspector in 1989, Assistant Superintendence in 1990, Deputy Superintendence 2003, Superintendence in 2009 and Deputy Chief Constable in 2010.”
