Man shot dead on D’Urban Street

A scrap iron collector was this morning shot and killed during an altercation with another man.

Dead is Allen Wayne Barker, 48. He died on the spot where he collapsed in front of Pearl’s Bakery on D’Urban Street. The incident occurred around 7 am.

From all indications the two did not know each other.

Following the shooting, the perpetrator calmly walked away.

Police are on the scene investigating.
