Prisoner charged with ganja trafficking

A prisoner, who is currently serving an 18-month sentence for burglary, yesterday appeared before Magistrate Sueanna Lovell at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court charged with possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking.

It is alleged that Carl Crandon, on January 31, at Camp Street, had in his possession 65 grammes of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking.
Crandon, who was unrepresented by counsel pleaded not guilty to the charge when it was read to him.

Crandon told the court that he knew nothing about the charge levelled against him, adding that he is currently serving a sentence for burglary.
He will make his next court appearance on March 25.
