Two years for armed robber

A man was yesterday sentenced to two years imprisonment after he was found guilty of armed robbery by Magistrate Sueanna Lovell.

Stefan Campbell being armed with a gun robbed Fayann Lewis on March 21, 2011, at Laing Avenue of a quantity of gold jewellery valued $583,000.

Campbell, who first appeared before Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry, had pleaded not guilty to the charge when it was first read to him.

Several witnesses were called by Police Prosecutor Denise Booker during the trial.

Magistrate Lovell, who presided over the trial at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court, informed Campbell yesterday that he would be sentenced to two years imprisonment.
