Labourer accused of stealing gas bottles

A labourer was yesterday accused of stealing two Tex-Gas bottles.

It is alleged that on February 23, at South Road, Adrian Antonio, 31, stole the two bottles, which were valued $17,000 and were the property of Abdul Kadir.

Antonio, who was unrepresented by counsel when he was arraigned at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court, pleaded not guilty to the charge when it was read to him by Magistrate Alan Wilson.

Police Prosecutor Kerry Bostwick did not object to the accused being granted bail, but asked that the man report to the Alberttown Police Station.

Antonio was granted bail in the sum of $5,000 and was ordered by the magistrate to report to the Alberttown Police Station every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 9 am.

The case will be called again on March 13.
