Public Service Minister Jennifer Westford today told Stabroek News no Guyanese were involved in an accident today in Cuba in which a number of Caribbean students were injured. She also said that there were no fatalities.
The Caribbean Media Corporation earlier today said that there were fatalities but Westford said this was not the case. She said she had checked today with Guyana’s Ambassador in Cuba.
There are hundreds of Guyanese and other Caribbean students studying in Cuba.
