The police say they are investigating a fatal accident that occurred at about 0805h today at No. 68 Village Public Road, Corentyne, Berbice, and which resulted in the death of passenger Nicola Bridgelall, 13 years, of No. 64 Village, Corentyne, and injuries to several other passengers of a Tapir motor vehicle.
Police say that investigations revealed that Tapir motor vehicle H 6505 was proceeding along the roadway when it collided with Tapir motor vehicle HA 2572 which was proceeding in the opposite direction. As a result, the passengers suffered injuries and were taken to the Skeldon Hospital where Bridgelall was pronounced DOA. The other injured passengers are receiving medical treatment.
Both drivers of the motor vehicles are in police custody assisting with the investigations.
