Grove/Diamond roads being rehabilitated

Several internal roads in the Grove/ Diamond area are being rehabilitated by the Housing ministry and the Grove/Diamond Neighbourhood Democratic Council (NDC), a release from the Government Information Agency said.

In the Diamond Housing Scheme, Kares Engineering, under contract with the Ministry of Housing and Water, is rehabilitating streets in Blocks 1 & 2 of Avenue A with asphaltic concrete; and Avenue B and another cross street with crusher run.

GINA said that the NDC is using its own resources and equipment to rehabilitate Section A, Water Street One and Water Street Two by adding sand, loam and chip seal to the two streets that are easily inundated during the rainy season.  Guyhoc Construction is rehabilitating three cross streets between Fifth and Sixth Streets with crusher run.

In Grove Old Scheme, under the Ministry of Housing, Inter-American Development Bank Community Road Improvement Programme (CRIP), Courtney Benn Contracting Services is upgrading to asphalt over 10 streets including those between School Street, from the Public Road to before Samata Point.   The streets between Niles Street from the Public Road to Samata Point, are being rehabilitated with crusher run, GINA added.
