BV couple granted bail on ganja charge

A couple was yesterday released on $40,000 bail each, after they were charged with the possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking.

It is alleged that on April 23, Lloyd Sadloo and Angela Blackman of Lot 6 Quamina Street, Beterverwagting, East Coast Demerara, had in their possession, 10 grammes of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking.

They both pleaded not guilty to the charge when it was read to them by Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.

The prosecutor, Police Corporal Seon Blackman stated that on the day in question, policemen from the narcotics branch, acting on information, went to the home of the defendants. A search was conducted and the narcotics were found on a chest of drawers.
