Teen remanded on simple larceny charges

A teenager was remanded to prison on simple larceny charges when he appeared before Magistrate Sueanna Lovell yesterday at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.

It is alleged that on May 6 at Middle Street, Georgetown, Kampton Vallet, 17, of Craig, East Bank Demerara robbed Terrence Gordon of one gold chain valued at $35,000. It is also alleged that on the same day, he robbed Stacy Bradshaw of one gold chain valued at $100,000 along with other articles totalling $143,000.

Vallet pleaded not guilty to the charges when read to him by Magistrate Lovell and in his defence said that he was innocent of what he was accused of.
He was ordered to make another court appearance on May 20.
