Deaf association receives table tennis gear

The Deaf Association of Guyana (DAG) has received a quantity of full table tennis gear for the development of deaf sports in Guyana, compliments of Rubis Guyana Inc, a release from DAG said.

Rubis Inc presented DAG with the equipment on Friday last, at the David Rose School located at Thomas Lands.

According to Vice President at DAG Quincy Richards, “Rubis Guyana is setting an excellent example for private sector to follow, and coming on board is definitely a step in the right direction. Developing the sports programme in special needs schools is one of the challenges our organisation faces, and it is a need DAG continues to address. We are extraordinarily grateful for the support. Rubis Guyana Inc is indeed helping us make a difference.”

The Deaf Association of Guyana is a non-governmental organisation that works with and for deaf youths: in education, the performing arts and sport. DAG will focus this year on developing a sport programme at the four special needs schools and an all deaf sports day is also planned for July, which will bring together deaf youths from Regions 3, 4, 6 and 10.
