Carlyle Barton aged 23 was this afternoon charged with the murder of Shawn Nelson who was shot and killed on Sunday in Orange Walk. He has been remanded to prison until June 7.
Stabroek News understands that though the DPP had advised the police late yesterday
afternoon to charge him with murder, she requested the file to be brought to her this
morning.
His relatives flocked to the courtroom and some became agitated when they could not
get a seat.
The young cricketer was calm throughout his court appearance.
