Region Nine, Bom Fim officials meet on security cooperation

Officials from the Region Nine administration and the police recently held a meeting with a delegation from Bom Fim, State of Roraima, Brazil in an attempt to deepen cooperation on security.

In a press release, the Ministry of Home Affairs said the February 15 meeting saw participation from the regional chairman and other officials from the regional administration office, the officer-in-charge of the Lethem Police Station and members of the Region Nine private and public sectors. The meeting was held at the Savannah Inn Boardroom and the delegation from Brazil was led by the Mayor of Bom Fim, State of Roraima.

Issues that fall under the purview of the Guyana Police Force that were discussed included the improvement of the relationships between members of the force and their counterparts in the State of Roraima, and the intensification of actions to address trafficking in contraband, the release said.
