Man shot by brother while protecting pregnant sister-in-law

A man is now nursing a gunshot to his right arm after he was shot by his brother as he attempted to prevent him from hitting his pregnant wife at Self Help Square, East Ruimveldt yesterday.

Yohan Greenidge, 34, of Guyhoc Park, was rushed to the Georgetown Hospital in the afternoon.

He was being treated for his injuries up to press time and his condition was listed as stable, since the bullet was removed. His brother has since gone into hiding.

Police, in a statement, said that at about 11am, Greenidge was allegedly shot and injured to his right upper arm by his brother as a result of an argument.
According to the police, the suspect and his wife had an argument, during which he was allegedly assaulting her.

Greenidge then intervened and a scuffle ensued between the two brothers. The suspect then left and returned with a firearm and shot him.

A source told this newspaper that Greenidge went to his father’s home when he saw his brother and his girlfriend arguing.

The source said that Greenidge’s brother then left only to return later with a gun. His brother then escaped after shooting Greenidge.
