The police say they are investigating a fatal accident that occurred at about 0905h today on Mandela Avenue, Georgetown, and which resulted in the death of pillion rider Travel Gilbert, 22 years, of North Ruimveldt, Georgetown.
Investigations revealed that the driver of motor car PNN 7257 was proceeding along the roadway, when it is alleged that the rider of motor cycle CG 4759 collided with the rear of the car as it was turning into an access street.
Police say that both the driver of the motor cycle Marvin Massiah, 23 years, of North Ruimveldt, Georgetown, and Gilbert suffered injuries.
They were taken to the GPHC where Gilbert was pronounced DOA and Marvin Massiah admitted.
The driver of the motor car is in police custody assisting with the investigations.
