Self-bail for man accused of inappropriately touching waitress

A man accused of touching a waitress in an inappropriate way was yesterday placed on self-bail by Magistrate Sueanna Lovell at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.

The allegation against Dexter Carter, 30, of 354 East Ruimveldt, is that he committed the offence on February 16, at Hadfield Street.

Carter’s attorney, Mark Waldron, in an application for bail, contended that on the day in question, Carter merely reached out, attempting to get the attention of the waitress, who then claimed she was touched in an inappropriate manner and an argument ensued.

The waitress was absent at the time of the hearing and Carter was granted self-bail until the next court hearing, which is fixed for June 18.
