City says 83 truck loads garbage moved

City Hall says its Municipal Solid Waste Management Department recently removed 83 truck loads of garbage from Georgetown.

A release from the city said that in groups 7 and 8, the collection and removal of waste was carried out by two compactor trucks and one tractor/trailer. Eighty-three  truck loads of garbage were removed.

Meanwhile, over the last few weeks, the city said that its Public Health Department carried out 865 inspections of yards and premises, in different sections.

A release from the city said that Environmental Health inspectors found 125 mosquito breeding places, in some areas, in the city. It warned that the mosquito nuisance continues to affect the public health of local communities, particularly, in the southern section of Georgetown.

The council is calling on all residents to keep their yards clean and tidy at all times.
