Police hold 34 men after city raids

During yesterday and today, the police arrested 34 men in various parts of the city following cordon and search exercises.

Police said that  yesterday they  conducted operations in Kitty, Leopold Street and East Ruimveldt, Georgetown, during which 24 men were held for possession and trafficking in narcotics and pending investigations into armed robberies.

Two  motorcycles that are suspected to have been stolen were seized by the police.

Today, the police conducted operations in Sophia, ECD, during which ten men were detained pending investigations into burglaries and armed robberies.   A laptop computer that was reported stolen was recovered.
