No plans to sell old Customs House – Benn

Minister of Works Robeson Benn says that his ministry has had possession of Customs House on Main Street since the Guyana Revenue Authority relocated to its Camp Street Complex last year.

Speaking with this newspaper, Benn said that there are no plans to sell the three-storey edifice on Main Street and it is likely that it will be put into use by another Government ministry. He said however that this has not been decided as yet. He added that in the meantime the Works Ministry is providing security to the building.

A visit to the building revealed that the Works Ministry was providing security with personnel from Strategic Action Security Service on the premises.
