A teenaged boy died on Friday night after he was hit by a car while trying to cross the Parika Public Road.
Police identified the child as Anil France, 16, of Waramuri Mission, North West District.
According to a press release at 18:50 hrs France was on the Parika Public Road when “it is alleged that he attempted to cross the road” and was struck down by a motor car. He was pronounced dead on arrival at the Leonora Cottage Hospital.
The driver of the motor vehicle is in police custody assisting with the investigations, the release said.
