Vendor Mark Hyman was yesterday charged with selling alcohol without a liquor licence.

It was alleged by the police that on November 14, 2013, at Brickdam, Stabroek, Hyman, of 203 Charlotte Street, Lacytown, was engaged in the unauthorised sales of alcoholic beverages.  Hyman, according to Police Prosecutor Bharat Mangru, had in his possession 16 bottles of Banko wine, 85 bottles of Banks beer and 16 bottles of Heineken, among other items.

However, Hyman pleaded not guilty and Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry subsequently placed him on self-bail and ordered him to report to Georgetown Magistrates’ Court 10 on December 12.
