Two Rosignol houses go up in flames

-arson suspected 

Two houses located in the same yard at Rosignol Village, West Bank Berbice went up in flames around 3:15 am yesterday apparently by arson and a 24-year-old suspect is in custody.

One is a two-bedroom wooden building belonging to Kissoon Dyal Samaroo, 45, and the other, a one-bedroom was shared by his daughter Tejwattie ‘Vidya’ Mursalin, 23, and her six and four-year-old daughters.

Mursalin was not at home at the time and said neighbours related that just before the fire started they saw a car parked on the street.

They then noticed the suspect and three other men leaving the yard.

About three minutes later they saw the blaze coming from her house. By then the men had already gotten into the car and sped off.

Her father who had been sitting on his landing also saw the men leaving the yard. But he did not think anything …..To continue reading, login or subscribe now.
