Detective accidentally shot in leg at Fort Wellington Police Station

Detective Constable 19182 Andel Doris, who was accidentally shot in the leg by another rank yesterday, at the Fort Wellington Police Station, has been admitted as a patient at the Fort Wellington Hospital for medical treatment.

According to a police press release, the constable, who was in possession of a service .38 revolver, was in the process of taking off the firearm, when a round was accidentally discharged.

The incident occurred in the Enquiries Office at the Fort Wellington Police Station at about 2:15 pm yesterday.

The rank whose gun was fired is now under close arrest and investigations are being conducted. Both ranks were said to have been on duty at the Enquiries Office in Fort Wellington.
