Three months and GT&T still has not fixed landline fault

Dear Editor,

It has been three months since I reported to the GT&T customer fault-reporting section through 097 about my landline which has a problem, I even visited the Guyana Telephone and Telegraph department at Philadelphia Street to report the problem. Mr Roberts, the manager himself took my complaint one of the three times to no avail.

One of the technicians told me the problem is at the box in front of my street; the problem is that my phone rings but when it is answered nothing is heard at the other end.

I hope the GT&T public relations officer looks into my story because I am totally fed up.

My number is 333-3587. I am hoping that by the publication of this letter someone from GT&T who really cares about their customers in Berbice would visit my location to have the problem rectified.

It is not fair for customers of GT&T’s land service to wait so long for their service to be fixed after reporting a problem, yet have to pay a monthly rental for a service that cannot be utilized due to no fault of their own.

Yours faithfully,
Marlon Daniels
