Can’t get birth certificate

Dear Editor,

In all my efforts to get a birth certificate, I still have not succeeded, and it now seems that at age 65, a death certificate would be the only document to be issued concerning me in my lifetime.

On several occasions, all the relevant particulars with my name, date of birth, place of birth, mother’s name, father’s name and names of all my siblings, two brothers and two sisters were sent to the General Registrar’s office at the GPO, but it was just useless.

All along there was only one response: My name was deleted on the application form which was returned to me along with two birth certificates in the name of my youngest brother. There seems to be real madness taking place at the office.

A late application for a birth certificate was again done since July 11, 2012 at the GRA office at Anna Regina, with instructions to uplift it at Suddie Post Office where regular checks were made, but in vain.

My name on the application from is Mindrapaul Persaud, but I have written this letter under my popular ‘call’ name.

Yours faithfully,
Sohan Seemangal
