Phase three Good Hope residents have poor road

Dear Editor,

20131005RoadPlease grant me a space in your newspaper to highlight a plight that is not only facing me but the residents of the Good Hope New Scheme, phase three (located at the back of the existing village). Just like me every other property owner in the new scheme paid $400,000 for our land, and have been subjected to a poorly constructed red sand road that is worse than the roads in the hinterland regions. In contrast, the fortunate residents of Good Hope phase one and two of the same village have paved roads after they invested only $50,000 for their land.

Editor the accompanying photograph will show the condition of the road and the difficulty cars and pedestrians have when using it. Owing to the distance of the village from the main road, you are forced to use taxis, while the drivers, rightly so, refuse to come into the village or else you have to pay the above normal price for the cars to come to your gate.

The rainy season is fast approaching, and I am pleading with someone within the Region Four regional offices or the Ministry of Housing to look urgently into this matter.

Yours faithfully,
Donald Singh
