Santos U15s defeat Pele 4-0

Santos FC defeated Pele FC in a U15 encounter 4-0 as the Georgetown  Football Association (GFA) “Do You Want to Play” U-11, U13 and U15 football initiative continued at the Georgetown Football Club (GFC) ground Bourda on Wednesday.

Beginning the rout in the very first minute of play Santos would open their account through their captain Rondell Roberts whose free kick from 25 yards out would evade the diving Pele custodian. Santos would eventually add to their lead in the 17th minute through Kelsey Benjamin as the former would skillfully evade multiple markers before eventually slotting home into the bottom left hand corner.

The demolition continued in the second half as Mario Padmore would add his name to the scorer’s sheet, chipping the Pele keeper in the process from 36 yards out in the 58th minute while the defeat was finally completed two minutes later through a Travis Lyken strike.

In the earlier U11 fixtures Santos, compliments of a Darron Niles 32nd  minute strike edge Riddim Squad 1-0 while Pele defeated Western Tigers 2-0 through a Lavantai Mars brace in the eighteenth and twenty fifth minutes.

In the U13 encounters, Santos defeated Pele 2-1 as Naseem Algernon and Darron Niles were on target in the tenth and thirty first minutes respectively while Micheal Lawrence briefly equalized for Pele in the twenty second minute while Camptown and GFC played to a one all draw with Josha Ferreira scoring in the thirty second minute for the Campbellville unit only for GFC to equalize through a Joshua Denny own goal in the fortieth minute. The final U13 fixture saw Riddim Squad and Western Tigers play to a nil all draw.
