St Stanislaus edges Old Fort 2-1 in JFIS hockey

St Stanislaus compliments of a Hilton Chester double in the eleventh and fifty second minutes edged Old Fort 2-1 in latest action of the John Fernandes Insurance Service second division hockey league played at the Georgetown Football Club (GFC)yesterday.

Conceding the early lead through a Terrence Shaw effort in the seventh minute, Chester would restore parity to proceedings, opening up the winning account through a clinical finish four minutes later.

Unable to break the resulting gridlock, Chester would complete his brace in the most opportunistic of ways, striking the ball through the on rushing Old Fort custodian’s legs to seal the win for his team.

In a rescheduled fixture, the evergreen All Greys would through a communal effort defeated Airbenders 3-1. Taking the early lead through a Samantha Fernandes strike in the fourth minute, All Greys would pull level compliments of a Dexter Wyles conversion in the nineteenth minute.

The lead was eventually relinquished by the Airbenders as All Greys consolidated their position in the forty sixth minute through a Timothy Jonas effort. The comeback win was eventually sealed in the sixty fifth minute through a Gavin Hope strike.
