Camptown, Pele to meet in Football Classic final

Camptown FC will oppose Pele FC in the final of the third annual Camptown Football Classic hosted by Gordon Van Rossum on Wednesday at 20:00hrs at the Camptown Football Club ground, Campbellville.

Van Rossum stated that the tournament is for the development of the kids and more importantly for the club as a whole.

Contested between four teams, Camptown qualified for the final by defeating Northern Rangers FC 4-1 through strikes from Reshawn Sandiford, Jamal Codrington, Raul Adams and Kevin Frank. Omalli Nassy was on target for Rangers.

Pele progressed to the final via a 4-2 penalty shootout win over Riddim Squad after the resulting regulation and extra time found both teams locked at one goal apiece. Solomon Austin was on target for Pele while Dwayne O’Reilly etched his name on the scorer’s sheet for Riddim Squad.

Trophies and cash incentives will be awarded.
