CCC 114-6 chasing 240

Combined Campuses and Colleges (CCC) chasing 240 to win slumped to 114 for six at the close of play on the third day of their sixth round match in the Regional Four-Day Championship against Guyana at the National Stadium at Providence.

Guyana were 136-5 heading in to lunch with their middle order heavily dented. Leon Johnson (38), Asad Fudadin (27) Ramnaresh Sarwan and Narsingh Deonarine (7) all failed to convert their starts in the second innings.

Steven Jacobs fell short of a half century when he mistimed a delivery from Akeem Dewar who had him bowled for 45. The other Guyanese wickets fell cheaply as Ryan Austin picked up two quick wickets when he had wicketkeeper Anthony Bramble caught for 16 and Davendra Bishoo caught at an unorthodox leg slip fielder. Paul Wintz was the last man to go as he fell for duck.

Parris was the pick of the bowlers grabbing 3 wickets for 46 runs off 21 overs and was supported by Austin who had 2 wickets.
CCC’s second innings was put to the sword by Ronsford Beaton who once again made inroads into the lineup bowling opener Shacoya Thomas for 13, he then had CCC captain Kyle Corbin caught behind for a well played 35.

Captain Versammy Premaul operating at the other end supported with two wickets as he foxed Shacoya Thomas (13) with a beauty and then had wicketkeeper ChadwicK Walton trapped lbw for 12.

Coach/player Floyd Reifer was bowled for 10 by Bishoo. Earlier, Steven Jacobs came back with the ball picking up the wicket of Nikoli Parris for  1.
Beaton ended with figures of 2-19 off seven overs, while Premaul grabbed 2-10 off his nine.

Guyana will be looking to snap up the remaining four CCC wickets today to record an outright win.
