TSC bounces back in Brainstreet U15 cricket

Runners up in the third annual Georgetown Cricket Association Brainstreet U15 cricket tournament Transport Sports Club bounced back from a loss at the hands of Queen’s College to defeat the Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) yesterday at the Georgetown Cricket Club ground.

Batting first GCC were routed for 109 with Joel Spooner grabbing 5-24 runs and was heavily supported by Nicholas Wells supported with 3 for 21.

GCC’s batting was held together by Ronaldo Mohamed who stroked 38 while Umesh Boodram (20) and Joshua Raghobar (20) provided support.

Chasing 109 for victory, Transport lost seven wickets but was steered home by Mark Baptiste who hung around to the end scoring 23 not out. Akeal Hiles was unbeaten on 17.

Khenchandra Hardyal 2 for 20 and Rawlewayne Payne 2 for 10 were the most successful bowlers.
In the match against Queen’s College on Tuesday, Transport SC, chasing 124 for victory were bowled out for 115 in 28 overs to lose by nine runs.

Hiles top scored with 26 while Haseed Hamid picked up 5 for 31 from 13 overs.
Earlier, QC were bowled out for 124 in 32 overs with Hamid stroking a composed 21 while Clarence Baird added 20.

Young spinner Jamal Michael was the pick of the bowlers snapping up 5 for 20 from seven overs.
