Twenty-seven team dominoes tournament starts Sunday

Lovers of dominoes will be in for a treat this Sunday when a 27 team tournament organized by president of the Georgetown Dominoes Association Faye Joseph and Organizing Secretary Mark Wiltshire gets underway.

The tournament, which is expected to run for two weeks, will commence this Sunday at 1223 Gaulding Place, South Ruimveldt Gardens and is expected to attract the top clubs in and around Georgetown.

According to Neville Cadogan, a vice president of the GDA, lucrative prizes will be at stake in addition to special prizes for the best female player in the competition and the player of the finals.

The winning team is set to receive $180,000 and a trophy with $75,000, $30,000 and $15,000 for the second, third and fourth placed teams.

Entrance fee is $9000 per team and the competition will be played on a two in one out basis. Teams will be allowed one re entry.
