OKC defeats San Antonio in battle for West’s number one seed

(SportsDirect) – Russell Westbrook scored 27 points and Kevin Durant added 25 as host Oklahoma City defeated San Antonio to pull within a half-game of the Spurs in the battle for the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference.
Derek Fisher made a season-high five 3-pointers and scored 17 points and Serge Ibaka had 11 points and 11 rebounds as the Thunder beat San Antonio for the third time in four meetings this season.

Oklahoma City will earn the top seed if the teams are tied at the end of the regular season.
Kawhi Leonard had 24 points and 14 rebounds and Tim Duncan added 24 points and 11 rebounds for the Spurs, who have lost three of their last four games.

Carlos Boozer had 29 points and 18 rebounds as shorthanded Chicago rallied to defeat host Brooklyn.
Luol Deng scored 18 points and Jimmy Butler added 16 and 10 rebounds as the Bulls (.554) moved one percentage point ahead of Atlanta (.553) for fifth place in the Eastern Conference and pulled within 1 1/2 games of the fourth-place Nets.

Deron Williams had 30 points and 10 assists and Brook Lopez scored 28 for Brooklyn, which led by as many as 16 points in the second quarter before falling to Chicago for the third time in four meetings this season.
Boozer registered his seventh double-double in eight games to help the Bulls to a dominating 46-30 edge on the backboards.

He scored 10 points in the third quarter as Chicago cut an 11-point halftime lead to two entering the fourth quarter.

Corey Brewer scored 23 points and Andre Miller added 22 as Denver extended its franchise-record home-winning streak to 19 games with a 95-94 victory over the Dallas Mavericks.

Andre Iguodala scored the go-ahead basket with 2.8 seconds left and Kenneth Faried had 12 points and 19 rebounds for the Nuggets, who handed Dallas a devastating setback in its bid to make the playoffs.

Brandan Wright scored 16 points and Dirk Nowitzki and Chris Kaman had 13 apiece for the Mavericks, who fell three games back of the eighth-place Los Angeles Lakers with seven games to play.

Dallas used a late 6-0 burst in the third to go ahead by nine points and take a 77-70 lead into the final 12 minutes. The Mavericks still led by five midway through the quarter but Denver got within a point on Miller’s basket with 1:48 to play.

Brewer came up with two huge plays to lead to the winning basket. He stole the ball from Nowitzki with 19 seconds to go and flew in to grab the rebound after Faried missed two free throws with 10 seconds left, leading to Iguodala’s drive down the lane.
